WinTensor is a program for Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, XP with which representation surfaces are created from crystallographic data (metric, tensor components) as input and several image files as output, including *.wrl (VRML V2.0 utf8) that can be inserted on web pages. Example screenshots include images representing the piezo-optic effect, the optical rotation, the elastic constants and second harmonics in quartz.

WinTensor is one of the many software programs and tools created at the University of Washington available through our Express Licensing Program. These agreements have standard terms and conditions that allow for rapid licensing by companies, organizations, or individuals.
Individual academic researchers may use WinTensor for non-profit research use in a single laboratory. It is available via a click-through license which restricts the user to internal research use.
