The Performance Based Risk Sharing Database (PBRS) was developed by the Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program at the University of Washington’s School of Pharmacy with the objective to identify, collect, and characterize publically available information on the use of “performance-based” reimbursement models for new medical products. We define performance-based risk-sharing schemes as arrangements between a payer and a manufacturer in which the price, level, and/or nature of reimbursement are related to the actual future performance of the product in either the research or “real-world” environment. The PBRS website provides direct secure access to a continuously updated, searchable database of PBRS schemes.
