DIDB® (including e-PKGene®)

The Metabolism and Transport Drug Interaction Database (DIDB®) and the Pharmacogenetic Database (e-PKGene®) were developed in the Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy at the University of Washington. The purpose of this project is to provide an analysis tool for scientific researchers and clinicians that allows them to discover correlations among the huge amount of drug research findings available. Users can search the databases using a number of standard or customized queries and approach the data from many different perspectives. The databases are web-based, and are regularly updated by the DIDB® staff.

The DIDB® displays the information contained in each article in an original format. The database thus provides both general and specific information ranging from the type of clinical study design or in vitro incubation conditions to measured in vitro Km and Ki values.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Subscribers to the University of Washington’s DIDB® notify UW of mergers and acquisitions. It is UW’s policy that when the organizations that merge desire to maintain a subscription to the Database in the new merged entity, the following pricing will apply:
Provided the merger does not change any other terms in the Subscriber’s Agreement, upon the first renewal cycle where the organizations have merged, the license will receive a 25% discount from the price paid by the larger subscription agreement with UW.

Example: An organization paying $52,500/year and an organization paying $21,000/year merge. Upon the next renewal period, the combined organization will receive a 25% discount from the $52,500 existing (larger fee) license, plus the $21,000 (smaller fee). Thus, the new merged entity will receive a $13,125/year discount for a NEW combined license fee of $60,375/year.
