UW PK-based Drug Interaction Knowledgebase

The PK-based Drug Interaction Knowledgebase, part of UW Drug Interaction Solutions, includes two best-in-class applications:

  • Drug Interaction Database (DIDB®) and
  • Pharmacogenetics Database (e-PKGene®).

The applications were developed in the Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy at the University of Washington. The purpose of this knowledgebase is to provide an analysis tool for scientific researchers and clinicians that allows them to discover correlations among the huge amount of drug interactions research findings available. Users can search the applications using numerous standard or customized queries and approach the data from many different perspectives.

The drug interaction applications display highly detailed datasets with quantitative and qualitative information extracted from relevant publications and recent NDA/BLA reviews., Common metrics (e.g., changes of drug exposure, oral clearance) for active compounds are used across all studies to allow metadata analysis of quantitative results.

The knowledgebase is web-based and is updated daily by research scientists, experts in drug interactions, and members of the UW Drug Interaction Solutions team.
